Corrections

We strive to be as accurate as we can. When we get something wrong in a published story, we correct it and add a dated note explaining what changed. We do not quietly rewrite a material error out of existence.

What we correct

A material error is a mistake that changes the facts a careful reader would take away: a wrong name, date, figure, attribution, outcome, or scope.

We treat spelling, grammar, and formatting fixes that do not change meaning as silent edits.

If a developing story gains new information that changes how you should read it, we update the article and its update time. That is different from a correction.

When we have recorded a correction or update, it appears on the article.

How to tell us

Email news@akanreports.com and include:

1. The article headline or URL
2. The passage you think is wrong
3. What you believe is correct, if you know
4. A link or other evidence, if you have it

What we do next

We read every report. If a correction is due, we update the article and add the note. Not every message leads to a change. We check disputed or unsupported claims against the evidence we have.
