The Ministry of Education has postponed the release of the 2026/2027 Computerised School Selection and Placement System results from Monday, 31 August to Friday, 4 September 2026.

A ministry statement, reported by the Ghana News Agency and signed by press secretary Hashmin Mohammed, said the extra time followed requests from parents, guardians, students and heads of schools for more room to finish submitting and uploading student data onto the West African Examinations Council and CSSPS platforms.

From 30 December 2026, large and medium companies that first place cocoa or cocoa products on the European Union market, or export them from it, must be able to show three things: the cocoa is deforestation-free, it was produced legally, and it is covered by a due diligence statement with plot-level traceability. Most micro and small operators follow on 30 June 2027, except those already covered by the older EU timber rules, which face the December date.

Ghana’s economy expanded by 6.4% in real terms in the first quarter of 2026, according to provisional figures from the Ghana Statistical Service. The rate is slightly higher than the 6.2% recorded in the same quarter of 2025. Non-oil GDP grew 6.3%.

Some of the gold bought for export from Ghana’s artisanal and small-scale market can no longer leave the country as raw metal. From 1 September 2026, the Ghana Gold Board will only process an export request after that gold has been refined inside Ghana, the refining bill has been settled, and the usual assay and export checks have been met.
