Ghana’s economy grew 6.0% in the second quarter of 2026 from a year earlier, according to provisional figures the Ghana Statistical Service released on 9 September, with information and communication technology accounting for 41.5% of the increase.
Real output reached GH¢51.3 billion, up from GH¢48.4 billion in the same quarter of 2025. Services grew 8.0% and supplied 57.6% of the total increase in real GDP, while ICT expanded 30.9% and accounted for 41.5% of the quarter’s growth on its own.
Industry grew 4.3% and contributed 23.5% of the increase, and agriculture expanded 3.9% for 13.3%. Non-oil GDP grew 5.4%, down from 8.5% in the second quarter of 2025. Across the first half of 2026, total real GDP growth was 6.2% and non-oil growth was 5.9%.
The contribution figures describe where additional economic output came from. They do not show how the resulting income was distributed among workers, households, companies or the state.
